In her opening monologue, she addressed the rumors that she was pregnant. The True Jackson VP alum hosted Saturday Night Live on December 3, 2022. I love this for us, but I really love it for Leo! God bless you darling, thank you for being in our lives. You wanted to be a dad maybe more than I wanted to be a mother and that’s saying a lot, because I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be a mother. It’s so wonderful to see the kind of loving father you are, but I’m not surprised. Man, Leodis and I are so very happy to have such a fun, kind, responsible, dependable and supportive man like you in our lives. “Happy Father’s Day to the best dad ever!(don’t tell my dad I said that), the True Jackson VP alum wrote. Weeks before the concert, the Nope star made a tribute post on Instagram fro Darius. The accounts reappeared days later, but fans noticed that Darius didn’t follow Keke on social media and he wiped all pictures of her on his account. I rest my case.” More backlash ensued on the Internet and Darius deleted his social media accounts. I have standards & morals to what I believe. “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. The day after he quote tweeted the video, Darius made a subsequent tweet. Better grow thicker skin.” Another reply said, “Don’t date a baddie if you’re gonna be this insecure.” Possession doesn’t usually go well in relationships, and you’re with an extremely famous person. “And even if y’all was married, not a solid look publicly shaming the mother of your child for her outfit choice. “Unless there is a ring on that woman’s finger, you don’t have a place, man,” another Twitter user wrote. “MOM, not wife□□□□ i suggest you shut up,” one user tweeted. you a mom.” Lots of Twitter users came in for Keke’s defense. Darius quote tweeted the video on Twitter, “It’s the outfit tho. How did Keke Palmer’s boyfriend react to the Usher video? In the video, Keke is serenaded by the “My Boo” singer in a sheer black Givenchy dress and is enjoying her time with the music legend. As for the rest: nevermore. It’s the outfit tho. So why is all this happening to the Ushers? Which Usher’s end will prove the grisliest? Why won’t Netflix throw enough money at this man to make more October delights? What gave that Simpsons episode any right to be so good? Some of the questions are deliciously wrapped up by the series’ powerful conclusion. There’s no question that The Fall of the House of Usher ranks among Flanagan’s finest works. But the show remembers to be actually scary, with truly inspired uses of chimps, mirrors and sprinkler systems. Problematically, Flanagan tends to conflate queerness with depravity and sexual fluidity is punished here with an unnerving flourish. Some of the CGI, particularly one scene involving bodies falling from the sky, is unintentionally funny. It’s not perfect – the order in which the Poe family meet their fates is a case of diminishing returns, as its most intriguing members are dispatched too quickly. His shows have become the streaming service’s best offerings for spooky season, and it is hard to imagine how that void will be filled. It’s not so much the “what” as the “why” that the audience and Dupin need to be answered.įlanagan finishes his Netflix contract on a high, gleefully capturing Poe’s magic, eerie romance and sense of dread. But as we know from the start, there’s no point in getting overly attached to them, as grisly fates are assured for all. Alongside his favoured players is Mark Hamill as an unfeeling lawyer/fixer for the Usher family who sounds as if he gargles a pint of nails every morning. Ruth Codd (the highlight of The Midnight Club) plays Roderick’s much younger wife Juno, a former heroin addict whose life was turned around thanks to the drugs the Ushers peddle, while Rahul Kohli, Henry Thomas and Kate Siegel each take on a dastardly member of the Usher brood. Carla Gugino returns as Verna AKA the Raven. The family is made up of Flanagan’s regular ensemble of actors, and to buy them as relatives requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but for Flanagan fans, there’s great fun to be had seeing how these favourites fit into his new tale of terror. As a parent himself, Roderick doesn’t fare much better, having six children by five different women who range from obnoxious hedonists (Napoleon and Prospero Usher) to despicable creeps (Frederick, Tamerlane and Victoria) to obnoxious, despicable hedonist creeps (Camille). Roderick has come from a miserable childhood with a puritanical, sickly mother who believes that “pain and suffering are the kiss of Jesus”.
